Mental Wellness in Today’s Youth
60% of people age 18–22 meet the criteria for at least one mental health problem.
Evergreen™ stands to strengthen student flourishing at Dartmouth and beyond. Your investment in Evergreen will allow our students, researchers, and clinicians to build the technology to empower students to reach their full academic and personal potential. Join us in building the future of student flourishing.
“As a cognitive scientist and president of Dartmouth, I have a front-row seat to how students are adapting to an increasingly digital world—sometimes in ways that can be very dangerous, but also in ways that can foster the very things that technology is accused of diminishing—including engagement, connectivity, and mental well-being. Beating the mental health crisis will require meeting kids where they are: on their devices.”Dartmouth President Sian Beilock

Only 14 child and adolescent psychiatrists for every 100,000 youth in the U.S.
$16.5 million will be required to fully implement Evergreen and disseminate it beyond Dartmouth.
We have a real opportunity to help shape the future of digital wellness for students.
“I wholeheartedly believe the project can offer guidance and support for those not only finding difficulties in maintaining their mental health, but also those who are seemingly doing well. A better path and more manageable college experience will be possible with Evergreen.”

Every student who works on Evergreen is paid for their work — your investment funds them first. Philanthropic support also powers the research infrastructure, data support, contract programmers, and business development behind the platform. The primary need of $7.5 million will fund the initial two-year launch period, with an additional $9 million required to complete the project and disseminate it beyond Dartmouth.
